Common questions about installing, permissions, and the things that can go wrong.
macOS 13 Ventura or later. Works on every M-series and Intel MacBook with a notch (and most without — the menu-bar UI still appears).
After installing, click the small Handbag pill in your menu bar (over the notch on supported MacBooks). The workspace expands downward.
Make sure Handbag is running (look for the icon in the menu bar). If it's running but unresponsive, quit and re-open from Applications. If the issue persists, restart your Mac — sometimes a stale menu-bar process needs to clear.
Mirror requires camera permission. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera, and toggle Handbag on. You may need to relaunch the app afterward.
Both Macs must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Handbag uses local discovery — it will not work over different networks or VPNs. Verify both are running Handbag and have local network permission granted.
Quit Handbag from the menu bar, then drag Handbag.app from your Applications folder to the Trash. To remove preferences, delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.handbag.app.plist.
