Does Handbag work on MacBooks without a notch?
Yes. The expanded panel still appears from the menu bar — you just click the Handbag icon there instead of the notch itself. (But MacBooks with a notch get the full cute experience.)
Can I change the color?
Six colors come in the box: Rose, Lavender, Peach, Ocean, Forest, Midnight. Pick one in Settings → Theme. Every part of the interface — the panel border, the dock icon, the accents — switches with it.
What macOS do I need?
macOS 13 Ventura or later. Works on every Apple Silicon and Intel MacBook released since 2017.
Does the mirror need camera permission?
Yes — once, the first time you open Mirror. macOS will prompt you to allow camera access for Handbag. You can revoke it any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. The camera is only active while the Mirror panel is open.
Does Handbag send my files anywhere?
Never. Mac-to-Mac transfer happens directly over your local Wi-Fi network. Files never touch a server we operate.
How do I uninstall it?
Quit Handbag from the menu bar and drag the app from /Applications to the Trash. That's it — no installer cleanup, no leftover daemons.
Direct download or Mac App Store?
Both work. Mac App Store gives you automatic updates and sandbox guarantees; direct download has the same notarized binary if you prefer not to use the App Store.
